Women2Invest: helping improve gender balance in venture capital

The first edition of Women2Invest is well on its way: the 2022 cohort (2022) is an amazing group of 74 women of 27 different nationalities, diverse education, age and professional experience, including backgrounds in entrepreneurship, consulting, management and academia

Women2Invest is an EIT activity, powered by Diversity VC, aimed at helping women start a career in venture investment. Participants receive 8 weeks of training to become familiar with the fundamentals of venture capital (even if they have no previous investment knowledge) and opt to paid internships or jobs in venture capital funds or corporate venture capital funds.

We have received strong interest from the VC industry, so far, more than 20 funds firmly committed to gender balance are recruiting from our cohort: Astanor, Atlantic Labs, BeAble Capital, Breega, BYND Venture Capital, Cherry Ventures, Diffusion Capital Partners, Digital+ Partners, European Circular Bioeconomy Fund (ECBF), eureKARE, Faber Ventures, FoodLabs, Icebreaker, Kompass Digital, Mundi Ventures, Planet APlug and Play Tech Center, PropTech1 Ventures, Startup Wise Guys, UNIQA Ventures, XAnge, Ysios Capital and Zubi Capital. Jointly, they have direct presence in more than 15 European countries, with very diverse investment focus in terms of target stage, technologies and sectors.

Other funds have also offered helped promote the activity, including Indico Capital Partners, PeakBridge, Primo Ventures and Shilling.
