Ukraine initiates Agrifood Lab to foster agricultural innovation and start-ups
October 3, 2023 – Ukraine's agricultural sector requires innovation to address the challenges of war more swiftly and effectively. Registration for the Agrifood Lab remains open until October 30th, providing entrepreneurs, scientists, students, farmers, and other professionals with an opportunity to collaborate on innovative solutions. These ideas may be of interest to Ukraine's largest agricultural holdings and supermarket chains.
Innovations at the Agrifood Lab may include sapper robots and drones for farms, tests for soil analysis, ultra-lightweight food packaging, artificial intelligence applications, and other formats that meet the Agrifood Lab challenges:
- Innovations and sustainable solutions for soil and water treatment
- Robots and process automation
- Sustainable energy and energy efficiency
- Food of the future
Agrifood Lab is a studio of innovations in the Ukrainian agricultural sector, offering workshops and a hackathon based on the design thinking method. During the workshops, participants will have the opportunity to learn about industry trends, enhance their entrepreneurial skills, receive guidance from experts on seeking investment, and practice presenting their ideas and products to potential investors. Throughout the hackathon, teams will work on developing their own innovative solutions over a 48-hour period.
The Agrifood Lab is open to representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, start-up founders, farmers, agronomists, engineers, project and product managers, marketers, young scientists and PhD students, experts in food technology, nutrition, biotechnology, AI, marketing, business management, psychology and other fields that can create innovations in the agrifood sector.
The winners will receive cash prizes and expert support for project development.
