Recruitment for Challenge Labs 2023 in Poland is open!

Challenge Labs is a unique event in the food industry gathering specialists from various fields to take up the challenges related to the design of products and food solutions of the future. Created for the needs of the workshops and diversified in terms of knowledge and specialization, teams prepare innovative concepts that will answer the selected challenges of the agri-food industry.

EIT Food Challenge Labs are designed to tackle the big problems faced by the agrifood sector by bringing together diverse groups of people: graduate and postgraduate students, technologists and scientists, experienced professionals, consumers and companies. Challenge Labs builds also the capacity among the participants to develop entrepreneurial skills.

The entire workshop is conducted in accordance with the Design Thinking methodology, which supports the process of creating innovation in the spirit of creativity. 

At the end of the workshop, the teams prepare investor presentations, which are assessed by a jury of industry experts. 

The winning team will receive a prize of 2000 EUR!

Each lab gathers a mixed environment of agrifood enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, industry experts and professionals finding solutions for current industry challenges.
The subcontractor of this year's edition of Challenge Labs is Generator PomysĹ‚Ăłw.

Challenge Labs 2023 Poland outline

The deadline for the application is now EXTENDED! Apply before the 16th of July, 23:59 pm CEST.

The results of recruitment will be announced by the end of July. Selected applicants will be informed by email.

The Challenge Labs in Poland will be held between the 7th and 16th of September 2023. There will be 6 online sessions and the Final that will take place on the 16th of September, locally in Warsaw. Please keep in mind that the event is held entirely in Polish.

Who can apply?

  • Workshop participants: alumni or PhD students, startup founders, entrepreneurs, MBAs and professionals from areas of food technology, nutrition, biotechnology, marketing, business administration, psychology and other areas with possible application in the agrifood sector.
  • Experts/mentors: experienced professionals having at least 5 years of experience in the agrifood sector in different roles such as R&D, Business Development, Innovation, Strategy, Sales etc.

Who is eliglible?

Citizens from RIS countries (EU Member States: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain; Horizon Europe Associated Countries: Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey; Ukraine, Outermost Regions: Guadeloupe, French Guiana, RĂ©union, Martinique, Mayotte and Saint-Martin (France), the Azores and Madeira (Portugal), and the Canary Islands (Spain)) speaking Polish on an advance level.

Note: According to EU policies and measures, Russian and Belarusian citizens will not be authorised to participate in any new grant under the EU Research and Innovation programmes.
